Learn to sleep with your gloves on

The alternative story appears in pictures.
Sun on the sidewalk and the leaves.
“I think the gondolas are overrated”,
she whispers. Later we walk on the Lido…

Hold a level hand flat against one eye.
More screaming silence falls down three flights.

A row of trees the cars the traffic
as vanity stares in the rearview mirror.

You simply must—that’s all.
No harder. Like this!
