Half Drunk Muse Poetry

Encore Break by M. A. Internicola

get yourself some wheels and drive
it all the way to the nearest body of
water and have your favorite drink
ready AND sip it and make sure the
music’s on and the sun is out and you’re
alone east of wherever you call home now.

the first time i saw you i knew you would
lay me to waste someday. so have one
more smoke and be tired and think of me,
of him, of them or it. settle down and keep
your feet dirty sometimes. do things you
never thought you’d do before.
