Marissa Ranello is a poet, activist, and freelance writer. A former Staten Islander, Marissa now resides in Saskatchewan, Canada. Poems have appeared in XConnect, Perigee Art, and Dead Drunk Dublin. Her non-fiction publications focus on foodborne illnesses, specifically Vibrio Vulnificus, which took the life of her mother in 2001.
