Mossbeard Haiku
Appeared in the Fall 2004 issue.
Clouds claw at pine-roots.
Nearly dry, a creekbed trills.
Mossbeard sits in fog.
***
Mossbeard man wishes
On nose hairs, not eyelashes
On pyrite, not gold
***
Low cello, mourning;
A sad, green man's tequila,
His slow tortilla.
