Deer Season
Appeared in the 1999-2004 issue.
A deer hit my car this morning.
Killed it.
It was an accident, I assumed
at first.
I was quite sure the deer didn't
mean it,
but I had to file a report.
The cops
said it was clearly a felony: hit-
and-run.
I had to describe the felon:
large deer,
brownish coat, white tail, mischievous
grin, snickering
as it bounded off after totaling
my Escort.
