the film critic
Appeared in the Spring and Summer 2005 issue.
not for anymore than dollars
in the sunlight would I rack up
this load of balls and give
the great push to my stick
that sends them all home to hole
with the burbling victory in the air
this science allows at all events
to sing several of the swallows
in the tree at my left beside the bench
nut-eating squirrels sit upon
and fill their cheeks with mast
I could nevermore ask myself
these questions in the round dance
and daily shuffle on the circuit
if it wasn't for the anyones there
who acknowledge and appreciate
the glorious gift of my sitzfleisch
